Sunset at Pigeon Point

Posted by

Very unusual warm and clear evening at Pigeon Point.

I was there for the re-lighting of the Fresnel lens that they do once a year. As I was setting up before the big event, we were having a lovely twilight.

Not sure why I got the soft focus here. I'll have to work on that problem. Perhaps the autofocus failed in the low light or the glare of the light coming from the building threw it off. Manual focus was probably called for.

I really like the glow of the lights around this great lighthouse, and in the post-sunset sky. Your composition is just perfect.

Lovely! Lovely! image. I quite like the bit of softness. It gives a little 'misty' effect. Love the star and i can make out the people, at left, gathering for the event.

I love this lighthouse...I have several shots myself of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse, but not at night. This shot is beautiful.
