Half Dome Sunset

Posted by
Monterey John (Hollister, CA, United States) on 27 May 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is an older film image shot at Yosemite National Park. The view is from Tunnel Hill looking toward Half Dome at sunset. The image was terribly grainy and sat in a folder for a couple of years until I applied DFine noise reduction to it. That salvaged a picture I was very pleased with.

Drop by the new website, http://www.montereyjohn.com/, and take a look around.

It is a most beautiful sky... the hues of pink with the green foreground are gorgeous. Nicely framed, too.

i am curious, what is dfine noise reduction? how did it help? it removed the grain? nice composition.

@dj.tigersprout: Not sure how it works, but if you could see from where I started, you would understand why I am so pleased. The sky looked like it had measels.

I actually spent the night on top of Half Dome in my younger days! You and DFine did a good job!!!
