Coming Soon to a Bookstore Near You (?)

Well, I guess that depends on what you mean by soon as I just started this last night :)

But I am serious about it. I have been thinking about writing a book for a long while and even have had some false starts. I have all the tools I need to carry this off, both in photographic equipment and computers and software. I also have more than enough images. I'm finding composition, formatting and text to be the real challenges... kind of like making a "real" book of photographs.

I've been thinking of doing something like that myself. I don't think I'm so good that I will be able to find a publisher though. Do you have any idea how to go about self-publishing a photo book. Who do you go to?

A friend of my husband has recently had his book (first of a series of 3) published. He did all his own photography. Editied it and sent to the publishers (the publishing cost a small fortune). It is a book about car mascots and is a one of a kind that is quickly becoming a collectors item. This is truly a worthwhile project you are starting. Your creativity will grow by leaps and bounds.

I, on the other hand, have not graduated to the calendar/gift card stage yet. :)

Wishing you all the best of luck with your book. I am sure it will be a success. You must not be impatient for it to mature, though.
