Delta Leader to Delta Flight ...Posted by MontereyJohn (Salinas, California, United States) on 18 April 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. This was a bit of an exercise. I had brown pelicans against a brown background. What do I do? In Lightroom2 I used the detail brushes to go after the pelicans that were against that brown background. I did some lightening, increasing "clarity" and contrast and generally fiddled around until the birds were visible without having to search for them. Not a particularly good photograph, but I liked the subject and wanted to do what I could with it. I shot this on the cliff above Garapota Beach in Big Sur. I saw these dudes coming and I swung around and just shot with whatever settings were already on the camera. Thanks for dropping by and sharing in the joy I take in this art of photography.
