Golden Gate at Night (2)

Posted by MontereyJohn (Salinas, California, United States) on 12 November 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

One more of The Golden Gate Bridge, this time from the west side of the bridge.

I shot several images from this location using a vaiety of ISOs, apertures and shutter speeds. I haven't made up my mind which one to stick with, so here is a random example. This one is a ISO 200 20 seconds at f7.1. Long exposure at a breezy location, but worked OK. The flaring around the lights is annoying, but not sure what if anything can be done about that. (Anybody got any good ideas?) The Marin Hills on the other side are visible and even some stars, though the stars show up better in the uncompressed (300 dpi .tif) version.

The picture I took from Cressy Field where I contemplated being donein by the Zodiac Killer can be seen here http://montereyjohn.aminus3.com/image/2008-11-09.html. Both these images were taken in the wee hours of the morning.
