"Angina Dune"

Posted by MontereyJohn (Salinas, California, United States) on 4 January 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

Today I was out on a business call, you know, making money to support this ugly habit of mine. We are expecting our first real storm of the season here on the central coast. This time it is a S-T-O-R-M, 5" of rain and gale force winds. So, I wanted to get some shots of the maelstrom coming ashore. As always, my bag was in the car.

My favored vantage point for this sort of thing is the dunes on the east side of Monterey Bay. The dunes are big, very big. Well, no pain no gain.

When I wake up in the morning I could swear I'm 25 years old, well maybe 35. Fact is that I am 60. Half way up the dune I was reminded of reality :)

Damn, that hurts!
