So, Where Have I Been?

I quit smoking AND I was involved in a photo competition.

God willing and the creeks don't rise, this will be my 7th day off demon weed. It has not been eay. I'm feeling pretty proud of myself for getting this far but humble enough to know that I'm one cigarette away from being a 2 pk a day smoker again. One day at a time, baby. I entered my first photo competition at the Monterey County Fair. This is a very culture oriented area, so I guess I'm happy that I received an honorable mention. Close, but no cigar.

Awesome news! Congrats on your honorable mention! That's fantastic....and well-deserved. Also, great job on the quitting smoking thing! I'm a former smoker too (5.5 years now) and believe me, it does get easier. I was pretty much a bitch for the first couple months (the first 3 weeks are hardest), but it's SO worth it in the long run. You'll be feeling better in no time. Keep it up and the best thing to do is stay busy....I found I didn't want a smoke as badly as long as my hands and my mind were focusing on staying busy. Don't worry - it'll get easier. :-)

That's so great that you quit smoking. I quit many years ago so did Mark. Over time it will get easier, and before you know it you will not understand how you ever did it in the first place. As Alice said keep busy and when you have a craving work through it and it will subside and eventually they will become just fleeting thoughts and eventually poof gone!

Congrats on the honorable mention. Nothing wrong with that. I'd be thrilled to get that much.

You should be proud on both counts! Keep up the good work.

That is so incredible that you quit smoking!!!! I quit over 3 years ago and I have to say it was the smartest thing I ever did! You can do it John! One day at a time and before you know it, you'll be celebrating years of not smoking and not being able to remember when or why you did to begin with!
Congrats on the show too! You will win before you know it, you have fabulous images and it will be recognized very very soon!!!

Congratulations on the honorable mention!! With work like that you will win first very soon!! And go John go!! I quit for 6 years then went back to the evil weed.. still struggling with the blasted things.. I'm weak. Keep at it and you can do it!!
