UpliftPosted by MontereyJohn (Salinas, California, United States) on 22 May 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Yesterday Anita and I went "up valley." Near Paraiso there is a narrow valley with a fault secondary to the San Andreas. The valley is quite narrow. When we were a couple miles in we came to this exposed uplift. It was huge, perhaps 500' or so high. Even at 14mm I could not take it all in, so I stitched three images together using layers. It's not great, but not bad either for a first try. Sky presents real issues when stitching. My first thought about the uplift was, "Man, I would not want to have been here when this happened!"
